Splendid Gardens Can Help With Home Garden Projects

Every home has a running list of outdoor projects. Things you mean to get to, but never quite have the time for. We help take those items off your plate so you can enjoy your yard instead of working on it.

Home garden projects can be small or substantial, and both matter. We handle everything from simple additions to more involved improvements, always with the same level of care. Our crews are experienced, respectful of your property, and used to working around established homes.

Poolside updates are a common request, as are seasonal needs like live oak pruning and winter cleanups. These projects may seem routine, but done poorly they show. Done properly, they keep your home looking cared for year round.

If there is something on your list that has been lingering, now is a good time to address it. We stay busy throughout the year, and we plan projects carefully so nothing feels rushed or overlooked.

Poolscapes

A pool is a major investment, but it is only part of the overall outdoor space. What surrounds it determines how comfortable it is to use, how much upkeep it requires, and how the area looks over time.

Poolside landscapes need careful planning. Hardscape surfaces help keep dirt and mud out of the water. Plant selections matter, especially near the pool edge, where constant leaf drop quickly becomes a problem. Privacy is also a priority for many homeowners, and screening needs to feel natural without creating extra maintenance.

Our approach starts with how you actually use the space. We talk through entertaining, daily use, maintenance preferences, and whether pets are part of the picture. Those details guide every decision, from stone paths to planting choices.

The result is a pool area that feels comfortable, easy to care for, and well suited to your home. A space that supports time outside, rather than adding another thing to manage.

Spacious Pool Landscaping

Spacious pool landscaping with added room for kids' activity and dog friendly. Hearty, native plants with lots of blooming color and contrasting texture from decorative river rock.

Formal Pool Landscaping

This poolscape design needed to match the formal style of the home itself. We used classically trimmed boxwood hedges and white Hydrangeas for a clean, traditional look along with manicured Live Oaks for height and shade, with Japanese Maple trees adding a pop of color.

Resort Style Pool

The minimal aesthetic of this Preston Hollow home reminded us of a resort so our design extended the look using right angles and clean lines filled with fragrant blooming flowers and trees creating the perfect modern space to entertain in any season.

Low Maintenance Backyard Oasis

This Coppell family wanted a lush, easy-to-care-for environment to de-stress in. Our design used blooming flowers, along with perennials, shrubs, and existing trees to give their backyard the feeling of a remote tropical island. Pet-friendly and low-maintenance artificial grass was the final magical piece of the puzzle to ensure this family could spend their weekends enjoying their backyard instead of working in it.

Perennial Garden Design and Installation

If you are tired of replanting flowers every season, a perennial garden offers a more lasting solution.

Perennial plantings are designed to return year after year, filling in naturally and becoming more established over time. When planned properly, they provide consistent color, structure, and texture without the constant cycle of removal and replacement that annual beds require.

We design and install perennial gardens with a classic sensibility, drawing from English and French garden traditions that favor balance, restraint, and long term appeal. Whether you prefer a single color palette or a softer mix, the goal is a garden that feels settled and appropriate for your home.

The benefit is simple. Fewer seasonal changes. Less ongoing work. And a garden that matures gracefully, giving you more time to enjoy it instead of maintaining it.

Perennial Heaven

We designed and converted this large annual flower bed and surrounds into a perennial delight with blooming plants for each season. Spectacular all spring, summer and fall.

French Style Garden

Following the architecture of this home, we styled the design, plants, and installation to reflect its franco elegance. Filled with lavender, blue Salvia, rosemary, and Lambs Ear to soften and brighten, this garden provides three seasons of blooms.

Formal Perennial Garden

Filled with shades of blue, orange pink, and bursting with texture, this design provides a lovely and manicured entrance to this stately home in Highland Park. Planned to bloom year around, it's rimmed with a small frontage of annual color for interest and variety.

Make It Beautiful

Fountain Installation

The sound of moving water adds a quiet sense of calm to an outdoor space. It can soften nearby street noise and make a patio or garden feel more removed from the day to day.

We often include a water feature in our landscape designs. Placement, scale, and surrounding materials all matter. When water features are planned alongside plantings, stonework, and circulation, they feel natural to the space rather than dropped in as an afterthought.

In the right setting, a fountain becomes a steady presence in the garden. Something you notice without it demanding attention. Integrated properly, it supports the overall design and adds depth and comfort to how the space is used.

Add a Pop of Color to Your Flower Beds

We have access to hundreds of container pots of varying colors, textures and designs so can easily find something you'll love to add color to your garden.

Focal Point

A tall fountain can be the centerpiece of your back yard, the repeating pattern of Tejas stone under the fountain adds a level of elegance and sophistication matching the home's architecture.

Utilize a Forgotten Corner

Tight corners can present a problem, many plantings will quickly outgrow the space and require constant trimming, a fountain is the perfect addition to such an area.

Fresh Water For Your Dogs

One of the benefits of a bubbling fountain is a never-ending supply of fresh water for your dogs.

Curb Appeal Updates

The front of your home sets the tone. It is what guests notice first, and it is what you see every time you pull into the driveway. When it feels cared for, the whole property feels that way.

Curb appeal updates focus on structure, balance, and long term appearance. Clean lines. Healthy plantings. Walkways and beds that look orderly rather than overgrown or improvised. These changes do more than improve how the home looks. They make the entry clearer, provide shade where it matters, and help the landscape perform better with less water and less upkeep.

Done properly, curb appeal work does not feel decorative or forced. It feels appropriate to the house and consistent with the rest of the property. The result is a home that presents itself well, quietly and confidently, every day.

Stone Pathways

The existing pathway was too narrow for the expansive front yard, we widened it with tonal matching flagstone and a cut stone border making it a feature element of the home's front yard.

Hardscape Elements

The addition of various sized boulders, flagstone, river rock borders, container pots and plantings of various heights gives visitors so much to explore at this home's front entrance.

Perennials

Yes! You can successfully grow hydrangeas in the Dallas area, ask us how! The large head blooms make this home a showstopper on its street.

Winter Cleanup and Perennial Cutting Back

Winter cleanup is one of the most important maintenance tasks of the year, especially in North Texas.

Removing fallen leaves and cutting back grasses, groundcover, perennials, and roses helps protect plant health and prepares the landscape for the next growing season. When this work is done at the right time and in the right way, plants respond more reliably in spring.

We approach winter cleanup with care and consistency. Our crews follow established pruning and cutting practices, handle plant material appropriately, and leave the property clean when the work is finished. All debris is removed and recycled.

It is quiet work, but it makes a clear difference in how the landscape looks and how well it performs in the months ahead.

Cutting Back Perennials

Perennials should be cut back to the ground every winter to encourage new, strong growth in the spring.

Removal of Dead Leaves

Dead leaves can harbor moisture which can welcome pests and introduce blight to your otherwise healthy perennials.

Bagging, Removal and Recycling of All Trimmings

Leave the dirty (bagging up and removal), and clean (taking the waste to a recycling center) work to us! It's not uncommon for us to fill a pickup and trailer with waste from the winter cleanup of a single home.

Removal of Tree Trimmings

Tree trimmings can be long and unwieldy, let our experienced crews take this laborious task off your to-do list.

Gutter Cleaning

Clogged gutters create problems quickly. Water backs up onto the roof, spills near the foundation, and can damage planting beds below. Over time, those issues become expensive and disruptive.

Gutters that hold standing water also attract pests. Birds, insects, and small animals see them as shelter. Mosquitoes are another concern, especially during warmer months when water sits unnoticed.

Gutter cleaning is not pleasant work, and it is easy to put off. Our crews handle it with the proper equipment and attention to detail, so it gets done safely and thoroughly. It is one more task taken off your list, and one less thing you need to worry about as the seasons change.

Gutter Cleaning

Gutters that are full of debris can't drain properly so they over flow rather than draining properly as designed, this can cause damage the beds underneath as well as kill plantings.

Debris Removal

Our crews will not only clean your gutters but will also make sure that the roof valleys are cleared of debris so you don't have the same problem in the next rainstorm when gravity takes over and your gutters are full once again.

Power Washing

Over time, hard surfaces collect dirt, mildew, and stains that make them look older than they are. Driveways, walkways, patios, and stonework often just need a proper cleaning, not replacement.

Professional power washing can remove years of buildup and restore a cleaner, more even appearance. It is often the simplest first step before considering repairs, repainting, or more extensive work.

We approach power washing carefully, using the right pressure for each surface so materials are cleaned without damage. It is a straightforward service that can noticeably improve how your home and outdoor spaces look, with minimal disruption.

Party Ready

Get ready for entertaining with a fresh cleaning of all the hard surfaces like we did at this Coppell home. Care is taken to not disturb existing plantings such as this perennial garden.

Mulching

Mulching plays an important role in keeping a landscape healthy and presentable throughout the year.

In cooler months, mulch helps protect plant roots from temperature swings. During the heat of summer, it holds moisture in the soil and reduces stress on plants. That alone cuts down on watering needs and keeps plantings more consistent.

Mulch also brings the landscape together visually. Clean bed lines and fresh coverage make everything look cared for and complete. It is one of those details that quietly makes a big difference, and when it is maintained properly, the yard continues to look finished for months at a time.

The Correct Way to Apply Mulch

The application of mulch is very important as you should not pile mulch on the base of a shrub or the trunk of a tree; plants and trees need to breathe. It's also important to avoid excessive mulch on the foundation of your house.

Winter Mulching

Winter mulching is an important step in preparing your landscape investment to survive the cold, winter months. Mulch acts like a blanket to help regulate soil temperatures. In the summer, mulch also helps retain moisture in the soil so plants don't quickly dry out in the extreme heat of our Dallas summers.

Great experience from start to finish!

Elizabeth listened to what I wanted, made helpful (wise) suggestions, and delivered a final product more beautiful than expected. The crew was excellent; hard working, polite, and tidy.
